black band over his eyes(he is blind), a large tattered cloak, not
wearing a shirt, scars all over his body, a chain with a falcon on it, a
rope for a belt, baggy pants(much like a samurais), he wears no shoes, and
he has rough gauntlets made from a tough material
Background: Born in an Elven city, Koryn grew up without his
father who had abandoned him and his mother at birth. When he was born he
was thought to be half-elve half-human. But when he went through his
training for his Ranger skills, this thought was discarded. Koryn showed
signs of high pyschic energy. He rarely missed his targets, and he was
quicker and more agile than any of his brothers or friends(who envied
him). He was trained my one of the greatest Rangers who dwelled in the
elven city, whose name was Rift. Rift had learned the ways of Mystics(he
wasn't very proficient himself because he just couldn't do it due to his
nature as an elve). After Rift saw that Koryn was capable of
above-average mental concentration he began to teach him. Koryn was a natural
born Mystic. He learned abilities and spells, utilizing them like he had
been doing it all his life. Amazingly, Koryn learned these techniques
that would usually take years to learn. Once he was sparring with R!
ift, when suddenly Rift landed a high damage move on Koryn. Koryn
sprang up as if the attack had no effect on him. His eyes flared white and
he unleashed his most powerful ability. He rushed at Rift and swiftly
knocked him down and would have killed him unless he didn't have enough
sense in him to stop himself. He later called this move Blind Fury, for
after he performed this move, he lost his eye sight. From that day on
he wore a black band over his eyes. When he realized he possesed these
powers, he was filled with curiosity. Who was his father? He had asked
his mother before but she would only change the subject. He decided to
take the matter into his own hands. At the age of 11 he left his city,
with the cloak of night to hide him. He would never see his mother,
brothers(whom he didn't particularly care for) or Rift. He seeked his
father through many towns, surviving by stealing anything he could, any
chance he got. He began to shape his own personality and style. He wor!
shipped Sammorth, the God of outcasts. Although he wasn't truly an
outcast, in his mind he believes he is. He lives by no mans rules,
believing that anything can belong to anyone who is strong enough to take it.
He made a reputation for himself, citizens feared him, theifs praised
him. If people were to put down their wallet, turn back and find it to
have dissapeared, the first person that would come to mind who would
steal it would be Koryn. But of course Koryn was too fast, no one knew his
identity. People often wondered if he was perhaps a ghost or some sort
of demon who could make himself invisible. But Koryn knew better. He
continued to steal from people to support his search for the whereabouts
of his father. Then one day Koryn, who was sitting around waiting and
looking out for his next victim, was confronted by a man who thought he
had recognized him. The man pushed his jacket aside and revealed a gun.
He chanllenged Koryn to a duel, and he stated his name as Eltia!
n. He intended to fight Koryn because he remebered that once he had
seen Koryn steal his purse and run off with it. Koryn just realized one of
his big mistakes. He didn't have a weapon, he had a bow made for him by
Elven craftsmen, but he had no arrows. He never thought of getting into
a real fight. The man pulled out the gun, cocked the hammer, and was
about to fire when the gun was knocked out of his hand. In the distance
three figures were silouettes in the horizon. The men, riding on
horseback, galloped furiously towards them. They were a strange lot. The man
in the middle seemed to be the leader. He was dressed in the clothes of
a rogue. His allies were dressed the same, and Koryn noticed that the
the man to his right was a Dwarve. The leader was the one who had saved
him, a custom made pistol in his hand. He dismounted and spoke gruffly
to the other man who attacked Koryn. The man wasn't about to fight this
guy. He hightailed it out of there. The leader of the group we!
nt up to Koryn. "So, you are the Thief we've been hearing about so
much... hmm, we've been out done by a mere fowl. You know kid, you have
potential. You may not have noticed, but we've been watching you. You've
stealed some valuable stuff." he said. "Not only has he been stealin
high value stuff but he's been stealin our business." the Dwarve
remarked. The other two laughed. They took Koryn back to their quarters. They
introduced themselves as Roc (the leader, who was human), Jahiv(a desert
pirate who had been saved by Roc when they were imprisoned together in
the Great Raid of Nebruhei), and Trukgil(the Dwarve who had been freed
of slavery by Roc and Jahiv). Apparently Koryn was a respected person
to the theifs. He was initiated into their group right away, and he
crissened the band The Lone Hoods. They went on many raids together, but
Koryn never forgot his goal to find his father. He became expertise
with his Elven Bow. But he didn't use this as his main weapon. Inste!
ad he used a hunting rifle, he only used the bow as a last resort. He
was now the leader of The Lone Hoods and the rest of the band promised
to help him search for his father. From then on the four continued their
adventure to find Koryns father.
Abilities/Magicks: Mystic Skills:Advanced Clairaudience (hearing sounds
from afar. With this ability his sight isn't needed), Primitive
Teleportation(he can pull it off but it's highly energy draining), ESP (reading
surface thoughts. He can often tell what most people around him are
thinking, or what they will say or do next), Mind Probe (reading memories.
He can read others, but not his own), Danger Sense(sensing danger when
it's near), Primitive Precognition (predicting the future. He can only
predict what will happen in a span to a few days to a few seconds. He
cannot predict longterm stuff), Molecular Agitation (heating
non-living/unintelligent objects. This ability allows him to create an artificial
torch, or cook food without fire), Camoflauge(he can blend in with the
backround. He is highly skilled in this ability), Poor Shape
Shifting(his most unresearched ability, not only does this take a large amount of
energy from him, but he can never quite get it right), Telepath!
y (mental communication. Highly skilled), Mental Silence(a skill that
shuts out all outside noises/actions, it allows him to regenerate his
energy more rapidly), Black Eye(allows him to temporarily cloud a foes
vision, making them see hallucinations, or what he wants them to see),
Crouped Speed(allows him to concentrate his muscle power from all ares of
his body to make himself quicker and more agile), Mind Bend(psychically
bending his opponents mind, only works on simple minded characters),
Blind Fury(his strongest attack, it delivers a adrenaline burst
throughout his body. His attack increases 3x but he takes 2x damage too.)
Weapons/Items: Hunting Rifle- A custom made hunting rifle, he acquired
it in one of his many adventures with The Lone Hoods. Elven Bow- He
recieved it after completing his Ranger skills. He only uses this weapon as
a last resort. Arrows- Koryn has an assortment of arrows, the normal
steel kind(the steel is actually custom forged by Trukgil, the Dwarve),
poison tipped, flame tipped, ice tipped, light tipped(best for demons),
and other elements. Rogues Dagger- Made for him by Trukgil, it is
forged from the rare black metal found in the mountains. It is
idestructible.
Nature/Alignment: Even though Koryn is a thief, he's not directly evil. His
heart is in the right place.
Special Notes: Koryn may have a lot of abilities and magick but he
is really a moderate fighter. He relies on his magick abilities and his
perfect targeting to finish his foes. He doesn't like close fighting,
the only weapon he has for that is his dagger. He is a little skilled
with hand to hand fighting, in the style of Elven Boxing which is
basically an assortment of weak punches and quick footwork. Usually Koryn will
teleport away from his foe if possible and fire away with his rifle.
(keep this part of the info confidential if you can please: Koryns' whole
upperbody is his weakness. He doesn't wear armor, so often a direct hit
can knock him stone cold. Usually he is quick to dodge such crucial
hits, but once in awhile he may slip up. He also can't take supernatural
characters. Angels and demons tie him up. He is especially vulnerable
to their magicks. Most of his attacks will barely affect these
characters(he will confuse them with his psionics and often run). The o!
nly weapon that specially works with demons are his light arrows. His
poison arrow works with characters such as Angels. His knife is good
with smaller animals such as dogs, bats, snakes and such. His natural
defense is to use ESP to see what his opponent is about to do and quickly
counter.
